Siena College raised more than $140,000 during its one-day fundraising challenge Siena Gives Back Day. The initial goal was to receive 409 donations to the Annual Fund on April 9, which marks when the cost of operating the College for the remainder of the academic year is paid not by tuition and fees, but by income from gifts provided by alumni, parents and friends.
What resulted was an outpouring of support and 547 donations.
- Together, we exceeded our goal of 409 donations and Mark & Karen (De Blieux) ’83 Vachon will now donate $25,000 to the Annual Fund.
- Our community donated $10,000 before noon to earn the $10,000 matching challenge from Laurie ’80 and Tom ’81 Baldwin.
- Parents, alumni, students, faculty, staff, administrators and friends were inspired to keep giving by Tom and Regina Burke, parents of an alumnus and a current student, who challenged us with an additional gift of $10,000 if we successfully reached 509 donors – and we did!
The donations raised on Siena Gives Back Day will go toward the Annual Fund, which is a cornerstone of Living Our Tradition: The Campaign for Siena College. This initiative has a $10 million goal.
Our students are the grateful beneficiaries of all this support. Please take a moment to view their message of thanks.
